From performance to precision

Designed to Last

This is not a slogan. It is the only way to work when the starting material has already been pushed beyond what the industry ordinarily demands. We begin with authentic materials, parts that have known stress, heat and speed. We qualify them, then integrate them according to Swiss watchmaking standards. Every step is documented, measured, verified. Beauty is never decorative at Lilian Mas: it results from mechanical accuracy, coherent ergonomics and a service designed for the long term. Our craftsmanship is a path: rigour, transparency, and meaning on the wrist.

Sourcing & Qualification

It all begins with the encounter of the Original Elements. A sequential gearbox pinion, forged for 78 laps of Monza. A brake disc, glowing red through the night at Le Mans. Racing does not destroy these parts. It reveals them.

This is the material we seek. The kind that was designed for the test, the speed, the forces, the heat, the impacts, and that carries their memory.

We trace its provenance, qualify it through measurements, characterisation analyses and stability tests, to establish a clear framework: what it can still give, what it must retain, and how we will preserve its story within the final timepiece.

Speed passes. What it forges, endures.

Pioneering Materials

Titanium lightens. Technical ceramic resists. Advanced composites stabilise. Every material we add to the equation has a precise role: to protect, to lighten, to last. A raison d’être validated by preliminary testing: machinability, ageing, aesthetic and technical compatibility.

These materials are not there to impress. They are there so that the Original Element, at the centre, is served and protected by everything that surrounds it. Integrated with precision, they enhance the legibility, comfort and reliability of the piece.

Reinvented Materials

This is the most delicate moment. The material arrives raw, hardened by years of mechanical strain. We clean it, cut it, stabilise it through tailored treatments, then re-machine it to horological tolerances, precisions that the part, in its previous life, had never needed to know.

Every operation seeks the same balance: preserving the heritage without compromising integration. The surfaces are reworked to accept hand finishes and watertight assemblies. At the end of this process, the material is requalified, ready to become a horological component, true to its history and meeting our reliability standards.

Architecture & Design

The Original Element dictates everything. Its dimensions, its density, its texture determine the case design, the layout of the interfaces, the choice of fastenings. We do not impose a design onto a material: we build around it.

The ergonomics of wear govern the volumes. Legibility frames the geometry of the apertures. Personalisation guides the assembly choices. What emerges from this discipline are clean forms, precise textures, a timepiece shaped for use, longevity and coherence.

Aesthetics is not a goal. It is what appears when everything is in its place.

Complications

The movement is an architecture integrated into the case. It reflects the story carried by the Original Element and the performance from which it originates.

The choice of a complication is never trivial at Lilian Mas. An integrated column-wheel chronograph for an Original Element born from sprint racing, because measuring time to the tenth of a second is the very gesture of the sport it comes from. A 3-axis tourbillon for an Original Element forged by endurance, because a part born in a cockpit subjected to every force deserves a regulating organ that defies gravity.

Each complication is an answer to a simple question: how to express mechanically what the Original Element tells in silence?

Finishing & Quality Control

At this stage, the timepiece exists. It remains to be revealed.

The surfaces are reworked by hand: bevelling, satin-brushing, mirror polishing, targeted treatments. Every component undergoes multi-point controls: water resistance, shock resistance, thermal variations, wear testing. We verify chromatic consistency, the quality of reflections, the legibility of information under all lighting conditions.

Beauty is a consequence: that of an object calibrated, consistent, proven. What the eye perceives, the wearer’s hand confirms.
